New Jersey Forest Fire Service Wildfire

Boy Scouts of America Camp Glen Gray

Mahwah, NJ     October 25, 2001

A large wildfire in Camp Glen Gray taxed the resources of the NJ Forest Fire Service Sections 2 & 5, as well as the Mahwah Fire Department. First arriving units were able to save the Scout's mess hall, but farther up the mountain, a cabin burned to the ground in the darkness. Air support, in the form of the NJFFS Huey helicopter, provided much needed water drops, as NJFFS units pumped water from the lake. These images were scanned from 35mm prints.
